Journeys: Grade 3, Unit 1 by James Baumann is designed to enhance third graders’ reading skills through a diverse selection of engaging texts and interactive lessons. This course emphasizes reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary expansion, and writing proficiency. Students will explore themes such as Communities and Culture, Nature and the Environment, Problem Solving, and Historical Figures, fostering a deeper understanding of social dynamics, environmental awareness, critical thinking, and history. Instructional strategies include teacher-led read-alouds, guided reading sessions, independent reading, phonics and word study, and writing workshops.
